AW14 Fashion Trend #3

Ciao ♥ It's just gone past midnight and I'm currently snuggled up with an oversized blanket as I sip on a hot cup of cinnamon tea. Rather than doing the norm of heading off to bed, I want nothing more to do than to get this blog post published. So guess what... I'm back today with the third installment of my AW14 Fashion Trends blog post series. Can I get a whoop?

So far I've received an amazing response to the first two installments which fashionably focused on the swingin' 60s and faux fur. Hopefully Trend #3 will go down just as well with you guys although I do have a slight inkling that some of you will be thinking, ERM REALLY? :/ Roll your eyes at me not as I can assure you that once you've read this post, you'll be scanning the websites of your favourite high-street stores, hoping to update your wardrobe in accordance to this trend.

The third trend of this series is ever so sparkly and glitzy as it's glitter. I'm sure that isn't quite what some of you expected to hear, nor is it something that many of you would ever dare to incorporate into your everyday outfits. Don't worry, I get it. None of us ladies want to resemble a six year old after they've been handed some PVA glue and glitter tubes. However, this is a trend that you are sure to see more and more of as it's perfect for the festive and Christmas party season which will be upon our doorstep within the next couple of days.

For those who are still in doubt as to whether glitter is actually trending in the fashion world (I promise I'm not making this up) feast your eyes on a selection of my favourite looks from the catwalk. Yes! Glitter was sprinkled all over the runway as it appeared in the AW14-15 collections of Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Mary Katrantzou, Rochas, Rodarte and many more. Convinced now? :)

The glitter trend is not something that needs to be excessively worn in order to receive an instant wow factor. Glitter, no matter how much or how little, can instantly glamourise any outfit and helps to transform it into something that is dressy uppy. For those who wish to incorporate just a hint of this trend, why not opt for some glitter embellishment jewellery or glitter accessories such as a hair scrunchie, clutch or belt.

Below is a collection of my favourite glitter finds from the high-street and online stores, all of which are currently available to purchase. What are you favourite pieces from this selection? I'm loving the glitter jacquard pelmet skirt and the metallic pointed courts

Bloggers Love Hub Event - Day 1

Despite the colder and shorter days that November has sadly bestowed upon us, this month is turning out to be rather exciting. Long gone are the usual Monday morning blues that so many of us begin to dread on a Sunday evening. Who do I have to thank for this? Why Bloggers Love of course :)

Bloggers Love is a London based company that organises events which showcase some of the hottest fashion and beauty brands on the market. Their most current and ongoing event is the #BloggersLoveHub which kick-started off on November 4th at Mahiki. The Bloggers Love Hub is a creative and fun place where bloggers can mingle and discover some new and exciting brands. On the night there was a selection of activities and booths for us lucky bloggers to enjoy. Not to mention cupcakes, complimentary beauty treatments including a manicure by the ladies at Toop and Daley and a gifitng lounge. Oh, and did I mention cupcakes lol :P

Two brands in particular that really stood out for me on the night were Glowbeads and Made of Carpet. If you're a regular reader of my blog then I'm sure you'll agree that I have a slight obsession with jewellery and accessories. My collection of the two is insane so it came as no surprise to my cousin when I made a swift beeline for the booths where both of these brands were at.

Glowbeads is a jewellery brand that produces bracelets and necklaces that give the illusion of glowing when the light hits them. Pretty amazing huh? A ton of tender, love and care goes into making these products as they're all beautifully handmade. They come in a wide variety of vibrant colours and different bead sizes so you're sure to find something that you like. I certainly did so was super stoked to be kindly gifted with some gorgeous arm candy which I will be featuring in an upcoming blog post so keep an eye out for that.

Made of Carpet produce beautifully unique bags that range in size from small purses to large duffel bags and come in several different patterns and shapes. I'm sure I don't have to tell you what they're made out of as the brand's name is a dead giveaway :P I've never seen anything quite like it before although I do know that carpet bags were extremely popular in the 19th century, especially during the Victorian times. Once I got home I showed my sister some of the photos I had taken and she instantly said that they remind her of Mary Poppins as she too has a carpet bag in the film. Did that come to anyone else's mind? Again, I was lucky enough to be kindly gifted a clutch bag which I will be styling very soon in an upcoming blog post.

Can I just say that Danielle never fails to amaze me. It's more than obvious that a hella lot of hard work has gone into organising these events and ensuring that us bloggers are truly satisfied. Danielle, mission accomplished

AW14 Fashion Trend #2

Ciao ♥ Today I present to you the second installment of my AW14 Fashion Trends blog post series. So far I've received a great response to the first installment which focused on one of my favourite trends EVER, the swingin' 60s. For those who wish to have a read of it, simply click here. Now the introduction (if you can even call it that) is out of the way let's get right on into it as this trend is truly fur-tabulous.

If that wasn't a good enough clue then I don't know what is :P  In case you didn't guess, the second trend of this series is fur, the faux type of course, as it is mahoosive this season as it was last. I'm sure this hasn't come as any real surprise as it was seen all over the AW14-15 runway shows of Balmain, Carolina Herrera, Elie Saab, Gucci, Saint Laurent and many, many more. Featured below are some of my favourite looks.

Faux fur is what I like to consider an autumn/winter necessity. Not only does it keep you warm and helps to ensure you look super stylish, but it can also be easily paired with absolutely anything that your wardrobe bestows. Yes, anything. What more could a girl possibly want?

Another great thing about this trend is that there is something for everyone. Those ladies who want to go fur crazy will find that their wish to do so has been granted as all of our favourite high-street stores have an endless selection of fur goodies. Oh, and those who are not so keen on overloading their wardrobe with faux fur, why not opt for one statement item such as a vintage-inspired shaggy fur coat or simply incorporate smaller sized accessories into your everyday outfit such as a stole, earmuffs, clutch or a pom-pom or tail keyring.

Up until recently many people would usually only associate fur with outerwear garments such as coats, jackets, scarves and hats. Oh, but how fashion has changed. More and more brands have upped their game as they've become more confident in experimenting and producing clothing that we once might have defined as being bizarre. For instance, you can now find fur on almost anything and everything whether it being a pair of sandal heels, pom-pom earrings or a cross-body bag. Furthermore, garments are no longer limited to being produced solely out of faux fur but are now being combined with many other fabrics. Eclectic edge, CHECK

To be quite honest I think it should be mandatory for every single one of you ladies to have at least one faux fur coat hanging in your closet. For those who don't, what the blooming 'eck are you waiting for? I promise that it'll be one of your greatest investments as faux fur has popped up during the autumn/winter season for the past few years AND designers such as Fendi and Tommy Hilfiger have transitioned this trend into their SS15 collections. Need I say more? So how many of you will be joining me in looking furry and fabulous?

Below is a collection of my favourite furry finds from the high-street and online stores, all of which are currently available to purchase. What are you favourite pieces from this selection? I'm loving the colour block faux fur coat and striped faux fur scarf as the combination of colours used are absolutely gorgeous

Product Review | L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara

Ciao! Not too long ago At the beginning of the year I ambitiously declared my desire to start publishing reviews on products, mainly beauty, that I've been using and enjoying. Sadly, I haven't kept to my word as I've only pathetically posted one review in about eight months. That's poo, right? :/ Going along with the saying 'better late than never', I've decided to write up a short and sweet review on one of my current essential make-up products. And, oh boy do I love it

Despite being in my early twenties and at an age where most females have already been there, done that in regard to experimenting with make-up, I've only recently started to wear it on a day-to-day basis. Don't get me wrong, on some days I still venture around the streets of London barefaced as there's something so refreshing about not having anything on. Lol make-up wise of course :P

When it comes to mascara I have a vast collection that include both high-end (i.e. Dior, Benefit and MAC) and drugstore (i.e. L'Oreal, Maybelline, Max Factor and Rimmel) brands. Despite the fact that I could probably give Boots and Superdrug a good run for their money, I am constantly on the lookout for newly introduced mascaras that I can try out. I guess it's fair to say that I'm somewhat obsessed with mascara.

Having always declared my love for L'Oreal's Volume Million Lashes in Extra Black mascara I was super excited to see that the French company recently bought out a new edition, So Couture, to their Volume Million Lashes family. I've used it almost every single day since buying it about two-three months ago. I think it's fair to say that this in itself speaks volume and I'm positive that the majority of you would use it as often as I do. It's definitely a product that I would shout from the rooftops about as it coats and lengthens every single lash from root to tip without causing them to clump together. This is a massive plus for me as I love when my lashes are individually fanned out as they look full, thick and intense. I'm definitely not a fan of the spidery lash look. Yuck! Furthermore, upon first application I didn't find this mascara to be overly wet meaning there was no need for my trusty cotton buds to make an appearance and wipe away any excess product from my eyelids.

This mascara retails for £10.99 at both Boots and Superdrug. I can honestly say that it's worth every penny and would definitely recommend it to you guys. Would I repurchase? Hell YES. Fo' sure! :)

What are your thoughts on this particular mascara and is the end result (as seen above) to your satisfaction? Oh, and please do recommend me your favourite mascara :)

Ciao! ♥ Xx
