Superdrug Blogger Competition

Ciao! Oh how I do love Twitter. A few nights ago whilst scrolling through my Twitter feed I came across a RT from one of my followers about a Superdrug competition for bloggers. All you have to do to enter is to create a trend-look using three make-up products of your choice. Pretty cool right? :)

For my entry to this competition I will be creating a Mediterranean Goddess look having used the Italian beauty siren Sophia Loren as my source of inspiration. Sophia Loren alongside the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn are just some of the iconic Hollywood starlets that today's women are constantly trying to replicate the look of. Known for both their award winning performances on the big screen, as well as their impeccable dress sense and timeless beauty, the reasons are there for all to see. With the aim of ensuring that you ladies look just as good I've provided a short tutorial on how you can achieve that gorgeous Mediterranean look that Sophia Loren is known for so effortlessly pulling off.

The three products that I will be using to create this trend-look are:

  1. MUA Pearl Eyeshadow Shade 7
  2. L'Oreal Color Riche Collection Privée Cheryl
  3.  Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara Extreme Black

Okay, so let's begin.

#TIP1 - Make sure that you have carried out all of the necessary steps prior to starting this trend-look (i.e. cleanse, tone and moisturise your face, prep your eyelids with an eyeshadow primer, etc.)

#TIP2 - Once you have applied your eyeshadow to your brush tap it to get rid of any excess product.

Ciao! Hope you guys are all well. I wore this outfit a few days ago when I went out to dinner with some of the guys from work. The weather was quite nice so I got away with wearing just a blazer instead of my sheep-like coat. Oh how I'm looking forward to the arrival of summer so I can leave my house without having to wrap up like an eskimo. That and also the fact that I can whip out my new shoes more often as I am deeply in love with them. They're simple, black and elegant. What more could you possibly want from a pair of shoes? #rhetoricalquestion :P

Topshop Joni Jean Outfit Ideas

Have you ever found a piece of clothing that fits you so amazingly well that you have to purchase it in every single colour available? I have and they just happen to be the Super High-Waisted Joni Jean from Topshop. I am completely and utterly obsessed with these jeans and have no less than eleven pairs. I first discovered them about a year ago and let's just say that I've never looked back since. In fact I hardly ever buy any other style of jeans other than these so I'm forever checking the Topshop website to see if they've brought out any new additions to their Joni Jeans family. Upon checking the website today I found that they've brought out an Aloha Print and Pineapple Print version, both of which I have now purchased online. Enough of that eye rolling as I did say I was obsessed with them lol :P

I'm pretty certain that there will be some of you who will take an instant disliking to the Aloha and Pineapple printed Joni Jeans. For some of you they might simply not be your cup of tea. For others you might feel that they're too bold and wacky for you to pull off or you simply don't know what to wear with them. Fear not as I've put together three different outfits showcasing these two printed jeans alongside the Gingham printed ones which is also available on the Topshop website. Hopefully I can inspire some of you guys to start experimenting with printed garments especially if you've deliberately avoided them in the past due not having the confidence to work them. Trust me you'll look fantabulous :) X

I hardly ever leave my house without wearing some form of jewellery and if there ever is an occasion in which I do then those people who know me are almost astounded once they notice. I know that might sound like a slight exaggeration but I promise it's not. It really is that big of a thing for me not to be flaunting my favourite pieces. I guess you can say I'm the type of person who almost feels naked if I don't have any jewellery on. So it was a lovely surprise when a few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Naomi from NOWSEEN who kindly allowed me to pick out a few of my favourite jewellery pieces from their website. That I happily did but boy was it hard as they have so many gorgeous and timeless pieces. After pondering over their website for a tad too long I finally settled upon these three beauties (♥).

I don't usually wear bangles as I feel that they're very much hit-or-miss due to the dimension of them. I often find that they're either far too big or ridiculously small. Neither happens to be the case for this bangle as it slides on with ease and does not hang too low on the hand. It really is the perfect fit and is incredibly sleek and feminine. The Willow Bangle currently comes in ten different variations so I was pretty much spoilt for choice. I finally settled upon this one as I love the gothic and vampire-esque type of look that it gives off. I don't know if it's just me who gets that sort of vibe from it but I love it.

I guess you could say it was a love at first sight experience as I was instantly taken aback by the beautiful grey-blue hues. This love was only heightened once I tried it on as the iridescent play of colour really is spectacular. So far I've worn this out twice already, the last time was to work along with a little blue dress. It received a ton of compliments so I'm extremely happy that I now have this beauty in my jewellery collection as I really do feel it adds that extra Ooo to an outfit and the length of the chain just happens to be spot on.

I have an insane collection of earrings and was known during my sixth form days as the girl who  wore big earrings as I was forever wearing big hoops and doorknocker earrings. For me it was very much the bigger the better. However, since graduating last summer and working full time my choice in jewellery has changed. I've grown fonder of smaller, daintier ones and in particular, drop earrings.

Once again I was spoilt for choice as NOWSEEN have quite a large selection of drop earrings but for some reason it was these that I kept coming back to. I just love the colour combination; an earthy tone with a pop of colour. Better yet lime green is right on trend for the current/upcoming season and will definitely help to brighten up my outfits.

Having previously worked in Links of London for a very short period of time I became quite familiar with the many different gemstones and metals that are used for good quality and desirable jewellery. So it was quite interesting to see the selection of different gems used. I particularly love the fact that all of these lovely pieces are made from sterling silver which means that with the appropriate tender, love and care they are set to last me a lifetime. Moreover, I love how versatile these pieces are as I can easily transition them from day to night.

I have high hopes for this brand and predict that they will do well as they have some truly beautiful pieces for reasonable prices. Pixie Lott, Millie Mackinstosh, Caroline Flack and Katy B are just a few of the ladies who have all been spotted out wearing some of their jewellery meaning NOWSEEN are definitely doing something right. If you guys haven’t checked them out then I suggest you wait no longer and head over to the NOWSEEN website now. Let me know what you guys think :) X

On Sunday I spent the day in Central London with two of my favourite girls We started off our afternoon by having a chit-chat and coffee frappuccino at Starbucks and then headed to Oxford Street for a spot of shopping. As the weather was quite nice I decided to incorporate some colour into my outfit by opting for my high-waisted jeans in a pink acid wash. I paired it with my new Nike Huarache trainers which just happen to be uber comfortable to wear. I really do need to put together a haul post as I've got lots of new things to show you so will hopefully do that real soon :) X

Current Favourite Swimwear

Summer is by far my most favourite season and favourite time of year. However, with the arrival of summer comes the dreaded shopping trip(S) for swimwear. Oh, and I just had to emphasise the fact that trip is plural. Surely you're beginning to understand the annoyance I feel in regard to finding a decent bikini. If not, heads up. I HATE shopping for swimwear.

Swimwear just isn't something that I particularly enjoy purchasing as I just find the whole process of finding one that fits well, extremely annoying. I really dislike the way that the majority of bikinis are sized (i.e. 8,10,12) as this means I usually have to go up a size or two as my usual size hardly covers anything. Now don't get me wrong, going up a size is not what annoys me. What does annoy me is that when I do go up a size the fastening of the bikini is far too loose so the fit is just poo :( Also, high-waisted bikini bottoms, no matter how gorgeous they are, are totally out of the question as I don't want my tanning line to be where my belly button is. Erm no thank you! Lol! Okay enough about this otherwise it'll probably end up being a full blown rant :/

I've had a look at several online high-street store websites and found three sets of swimwear that I'm currently loving. Which one is your favourite? X
